If I’m plunking down money on a 14 year old jaguar, id probably either go with a xkr or an s-type r. The XKR will be similar money but shouldn’t depreciate as fast/much because it’s a coupe/convertible. The s-type, although not as classically jaguar and it’s shared platform, is a bit cheaper, and people generally liked the handling better.

I'm not much of a person for full size cars though.

Simple, it’s not the aluminum body. That thing is too heavy. I think you need to get the 2004 year body for that.

I'm trying to find one for $6000 to be a quasi project car. I prefer the looks of the pre 04, but I considered a newer XJR when I was buying my S600

i think the 2004 weighed just as much, with all of the various additions and size increase. and i think 10 or more hp’s, nothing significant. this x308, was more low slung, sleeker, and sexier looking if you ask me. :)

I wouldn’t pick this over a normal XJR for half the price, it’s really only worth having if you’re some kind of collector.

Now, if you really like the X308 body style, the one to have is the much rarer Vanden Plas Supercharged. A Ur-Super V8 if you will...

The answer is obvious. Sell the black sheep in the garage. If you keep the Lexus too long your unreliable cars will get jealous, then depressed, and obviously grow much more unreliable.

I still have a Honda and a suburban too. Space is really the main issue. Once I get rid of my old boat I’ll have a lot more space for toys. I’m thinking a semi permanent tent because I’m not zoned for a real pole barn. In theory I have a second two car garage but it’s too small to fit any of my cars.

Then replace them with a GL and a GLA (or closest Mercedes equivalent to your Honda). You’re boat obviously needs to go too. Because between 3 Mercedes and a jag you will need that money for repairs. However at least one of these should work at any given time.

I don’t care how many lakes Minnesota has, you don’t need a boat. At all. Period. Unless you enjoy tubing. Or fishing. Or other water related sports. But I can tell you the happiest days of a boat owners life are the day he buys the boat and the day he sells it. Apparently.

I’m not good at rational unless I’m at work. Which I’m not currently. In fact, I’m currently embroiled in mental civil war over something else entirely that should not even be the bitching before the skirmish that starts the war. That’s how bad I am.

G55 is best G wagen. Not insanely expensive to own like 63. Better to drive than 63 because it doesn’t have tires as wide as football fields. Still sounds great and is still fast. 140 is just a bad idea, and old 4matic is worse. Luckily for you I don’t think they ever made a 4matic 140. If you want an old S get a 116. Those are much cooler than their successors.

500e is a solid choice. 126 is a good car, they just don’t have the cool factor a 116 does in my opinion. And since we’re talking Mercedes, my opinion is basically fact, or a law of physics if you will.
